  • The Coffee Gallery, Haleiwa, Hawaii - This was probably my favorite coffee shop while I lived on the island of Oahu. Stop by their North Shore shop if you ever visit. If you are looking for a sweet taste of aloha to go with your coffee, try some Chocolate Macadamia Nuts.
  • Gevalia - I have mixed emotions about Gevalia coffee. It is good European coffee, but I've tasted so many cups of it that have been ruined by improper brewing or just bad coffee makers. All of their coffees do have a distinctive "Gevalia" flavor. They have different mailing programs where you can schedule the delivery of your coffee so you never run out.
  • J. Martinez & Company, Atlanta, Georgia - "Coffee is man's most affordable luxury." Well, unless you're referring to their Sumatra, Kopi Luwak at $300 a pound! Fortunately they sell it by the ounce ($18.75/ounce). My experience with J. Martinez has been recent (Jamaica Blue Mountain, Estate Reserve) and wonderful. As you can tell from their website, and certainly their coffee, this is coffee at its finest. Most of their coffee is quite affordable.
  • St. Ives Coffee Roasters, Gainesville, Georgia - One of my favorite coffee shops in North Georgia. I'm not a big flavored coffee fan, but their vanilla nut coffee is something that everyone should try. It is the best flavored coffee I've had. Their other coffees are very good too and if you're ever in North Georgia stop in their shop. It's a neat atmosphere and they have a great selection of coffee, drinks, desserts and light lunches.
  • Starbucks - This is my everyday coffee. A lot of people complain of a "burnt" taste, but to me it is a taste of richness. I prefer their bolder blends and I brew them very stoutly.
